A leading provider of electronic trading services to firms in the investment industry needed our help to maintain its competitive edge in a quickly expanding marketplace. 

The stakes were high. Brand development and positioning was a critical issue for this client. Its services were superior and technologically advanced, but if its brand image failed to reflect that, the firm risked losing market share and stunting its own rapid growth. 

Another key issue for this client was making sure that its story was heard by its potential client base, as told through the media in the financial services industry. 

In November 2004, the client retained EMG to handle all aspects of its global public relations campaign. We conducted strategy sessions with the firm's key officers and studied their branding and marketing efforts, competition and long-term strategic goals. From this, we came up with a comprehensive and effective strategic communications strategy, a winning PR plan that would set the client apart from its competitors. 

Once we had mapped out the plan, we moved into the execution stage, taking the client's story to targeted media outlets, developing relationships with key industry reporters and securing placements in high-profile trade magazines. Our campaign won coverage for the client in top industry publications, such as The Deal, Hedgeworld, Securities Industry News, Advanced Trading, Wall Street & Technology, and Waters magazine. Feature stories in these publications positioned the client as a leader in its field. 

EMG also organized a branded-events series to raise the profile of the client, with targeted events in major cities internationally. Also, we helped facilitate the client's naming by Tower Group as one of the top three independent execution management systems worldwide.
